Photograph of Alison, Richmond Volunteer CentreOur primary role is to recruit volunteers and support voluntary action throughout Richmondshire. Anyone wishing to volunteer who contacts us, is offered a confidential interview to discuss their individual skills and interests, with the aim of finding them the perfect volunteering opportunity.

We have a register of volunteers who work directly with us, either as volunteer drivers or as befrienders to housebound people.

We can also provide information about other local voluntary groups and charities which offer support to people with specific needs, or we will contact them on your behalf.

We have up-to-date information about all organisations in Richmondshire which use volunteers, and we are the local agents for do-it.org.uk - the national database of volunteering opportunities in the UK

We offer support to other groups using volunteers - for example we can advise on recruiting, Richmondshire Volunteer Centreretaining and managing volunteers. We can also provide good practice guidelines when working with volunteers. This might include help with forming policies such as Health and Safety or a Training Policy for volunteers working with the organisation.
